This collaboration between LA-based artist Iris Yirei Hu and New Mexico-based Paula Wilson is gloriously slow. In this work, two large yucca prints honor the connections between people, plants and animals, places, and time. The yucca relies on its moth pollinator, the sun and soil, and its chaparral ecosystem. The artists rely on plant fibers, plant and mineral dyes, and the sun's passage to create rich indigo blue cyanotypes – a form of sun photograph. Like the yucca and its moth, we are all interdependent. Status
