Label TextThe resinous small leaves, immature seeds, and ray flowers are that of the potent medicinal, fragrant Creosote bush that governs the Mojave desert. This evergreen shrub can grow up to ten feet tall and live to be twelve thousand years old. It is a panacea and used as a medicine to treat respiratory illness and a long list of ailments, as well as used as a dye. The title in Cahuilla, Spanish, and Latin demonstrates plant knowledge over time. Painted in maya green maya yellow, yellow ochre, and walnut ink heightened with white.
