Michael Reafsnyder
Local artist Micheal Reafsnyder was born in Orange, California in 1969, and continues to live and work in Southern California. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art at Chapman University in 1992 and a Master of Fine Arts at the Arts Center College of Design in Pasadena California. The signature mark in Michael Reafsnyder’s paintings is a smiling face squeezed directly from the paint tube, often hidden among his usual wild color and active gesture. Reafsnyder’s work is included in the collections at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Orange County Museum of Art, Harvard University, and the Laguna Art Museum. He is an exceptional friend to the Escalette Collection as an artist, donor, and most especially as a Chapman alumnus. (From Paths and Edges exhibition, Guggenheim Gallery, August 2015)
