Biography
Frank Martinangeli was born in Melbourne in 1973. He graduated from the Silvio D’Amico Art Institute in Rome in 1994, becoming a laboratory assistant under the directives of the masters Pasquale Santoro and Carlo Venturi in the last two years. In 2004, he founded the Ass. Cult. Tiber printing house with Andrea Pacini, Alessandro Fornaci, Alessia Consiglio, Virginia Sobrino and Antonella Giacobbe. In 2008 he was invited by the Grand Central Art Center of California as "Artist in Residence"; at the same time he held several workshops on experimental printing at California State University of Fullerton and at the Orange Coast College (California). From 2009-2011, he organized other courses for the students of Chapman University (California) at the Stamperia del Tevere in Rome. Since 1992 he has created a number of graphic editions for various Italian and foreign artists, including the masters Pasquale Santoro, Carlo Lorenzetti and Salvatore Provino. In 2016 he left the Printing House of the Tiber and together with Andrea Pacini, Usama Saad, Stefano Franchi, Virginia Sobrino and Mauro Manni founded the Ass. Cult. Alea Contemporary Art, Gallery and Art Workshop. He also holds engraving courses at various locations.
