BiographyHiggy Vasquez is an Orange County visual artist and a video multi-media creator/editor. His fine art includes paintings and mural restorations, and he is extremely proficient with Trompe L'Oeil. He is equally fluent in graphic arts. His recent projects include the restoration of Chapman’s Cypress Street Mural, “El Proletariado de Aztlan,” originally designed and painted by his father, Emigdio Vasquez, one of Orange County’s most revered mural painters. Together with other members of the Vasquez family, Higgy has played a prominent role in restoring Chicano murals and advocating for the preservation and continuation of an art form that has vitalized the California art scene for over four decades.
