Label Text“No water, no life. No blue, no green,” remarks American oceanographer Sylvia Earle. In Orange County, water is our state line, our playground, our asset, our shortfall. For Chemehuevi photographer Cara Romero, water is our most intimate memory of our beginnings. In "Eufaula Girls," Muscogee mother and daughter Lisa and Crickett Tiger float through an amniotic dreamscape. Water is our essence but also our downfall. While celebrating life, this photograph also memorializes destructive flooding in Eufaula, Alabama.
