Label TextBefore establishing the Escalette Endowment, Ross and Phyllis donated initial funds for Chapman’s curator to purchase significant works, including this one. Serra (b. 1939) is known for his large-scale steel sculptures, and recently collaborated with Crown Point Press in San Francisco to produce several series of prints that translate his sensibility for weight, gravity, and curved line onto paper.
