Hilary Baker
American
Baker received her BA from UCLA and her MFA from the Otis Art Institute. She has exhibited widely throughout California, the US and internationally, and has been awarded residencies at the Pont-Aven School of Art in France, the Ucross Foundation, Art Omi, and the Yaddo and MacDowell Colonies. David Pagel of the LA Times writes, "Baker mixes yellow and green like no one else, creating a rainbow of shades that seems as tasty as sorbet and as toxic as antifreeze. She makes gray look sexy and beige exciting." Her work is included in numerous public collections, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Fine Art Museums of San Francisco, the Crocker Museum, Broad Art Foundation, Temple University, and the University of Southern California.
She maintains a studio in the Arlington Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles, and lives on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean.
